One man is behind bars on several charges following an incident in Odessa on Tuesday evening.

ODESSA, TX (KWES) - One man is behind bars on several charges following an incident in Odessa on Tuesday evening.

Odessa police were called out to Studio 6 on Highway 80 in reference to a domestic disturbance just before 6 p.m.

When officers arrived on the scene, a 50-year-old female told police her son assaulted her. The woman also reported that her son, David Clements, 30, was inside a hotel room assaulting his sister.

According to the report, Clements immediately began to advance toward an Odessa officer.

Police say while officers were trying to take Clements into custody, he tensed up and pulled his hands away from his back but officers did get him into handcuffs.

Authorities say an investigation revealed that Clements had punched his sister in the face with a closed fist, grabbed a large knife from the kitchen and stabbed her in the right shoulder.

The report stated that during the disturbance, Clements picked up a piece of broken glass and threw the glass at the 50-year-old's forehead.

The 50-year-old was treated by medics on the scene and the 24-year-old was taken to Medical Center Hospital with serious bodily injury.

Clements is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest and for an outstanding class B misdemeanor warrant out of Martin County.
