Man dies after house catches fire in Van Horn

A 31-year-old man was found unresponsive in a smoke-filled house. After being taken to Culberson Hospital, he was pronounced dead.

VAN HORN, Texas — A man is dead in Van Horn after being found in a house on fire early Sunday morning, according to Culberson County Sheriff's Office.

At about 1:30 a.m., a fire broke out in a house in the 600 block of Eisenhower in Van Horn. 

When first responders arrived, they found an unresponsive man lying on the kitchen floor.

The man was taken immediately to Culberson Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The cause of fire as well as the cause of death is still under investigation, according to CCSO.
