ODESSA, TX (KWES) - A man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for a murder in Odessa.
Prosecutors say Jesus Venegas confessed to killing Rene Sanchez and burying his body in July, 2008.
The arrest affidavit says Venegas admitted to stabbing Sanchez several times and burying his body somewhere near Interstate 20 and Moss Avenue.
Sanchez's body was never found.
Investigators say Sanchez went to a neighbor's house for some drinks and Venegas was at the home.
The report says Sanchez and Venegas left to get more beer.
