STANTON, TX (KWES) - Martin County Hospital started on a $4 million renovation project that was needed to expand departments within the hospital.
Martin County Hospital CEO, Paul McKinney, said "Our Physical Therapy Department, Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy need room. Our central supply is busting at the seams."
McKinney said there are sometimes three people to an office.
"We're re-doing our admissions office and we're adding more parking," said McKinney.
The hospital is looking to add seven thousand square feet.
"We need to utilize our space more wisely. We're doing swing beds now that we didn't do before. We're doing surgeries now that we didn't do before," said McKinney.
McKinney believes the renovation will help continue to give their patients quality care.
"A lot of patients come to see us from Big Spring and Midland. We see this as a positive thing for Martin County," said McKinney.
Renovations to the hospital are expected to be completed by next year.
