The Midland Community Theater will be opening its new show this weekend called 'Girl on the Train'.
As a part of Domestic Violence Awareness month, MCT wanted to do their part by raising awareness with the production of a show that tackles domestic violence.
"The Girl on the Train is a murder mystery," said Business Development Director of MCT Wendi Guerrero. "It follows a woman whose memory is not the greatest due to some substance abuse issues. And her memory is very shoddy when it comes to the night that this incident this murder happened. It does deal with themes of domestic violence both with her and with other women in the cast as well and how she coped with it, how they coped with it and what that means if it goes unresolved or you know if it's not taken care of."
There will be a representative from Safe Place of the Permian Basin will also be speaking before the show on opening night about the resources available to those experiencing domestic violence.
'Girl on the Train' opens this weekend with performances on Oct. 20 and 21. People can get their tickets at MCTMidland.org.
