MIDLAND, Texas — Midland Animal Services will be closed on Thursday for mandatory training for staff.
The training will allow staff members to "enhance their ability to provide the best care for the animals and the community they serve."
“The course will equip our staff with essential skills to manage the emotional and psychological challenges inherent in animal care and euthanasia,” said Melissa Griffin-Hobson, Animal Services manager. “Given the importance of this training, it is mandatory for all staff members to participate, hence the need to close our services for the day."
Midland Animal Services will reopen Friday on regular business hours from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
For any emergencies during that time, on-call emergency staff and dog reclaims will be available at 432-685-7420. Emergencies after regular business hours should call 432-685-7108.
