MIDLAND, Texas — Midland Animal Services has partnered with Petco Love Lost to simplify reporting and searching for lost and found pets, according to a post on the City of Midland Facebook Page.
Residents can use the City’s website to report incidents, and the Nextdoor app extends the program’s reach.
Petco Love Lost employs AI and facial recognition technology to match uploaded photos of missing pets with shelter animals and community members’ pets.
This initiative simplifies the search process and improves the chances of pets being reunited with their owners. The service includes a link on the Midland Animal Services website for reporting lost and found pets and integrates with the Nextdoor app to extend its reach.
