City of Midland announces Greg Snow as interim Police Chief

The press release stated that Snow has 25 years of policing experience.

MIDLAND, Texas — Midland City Manager Tommy Gonzalez has announced that Greg Snow, a 25-year police veteran, will serve as the Interim Police Chief, according to a press release from the City of Midland. 

The release stated that Snow has shown a consistent demonstration of exemplary leadership qualities, including receiving the Supervisor of the Year awards in 2012 and 2015.

As the current Deputy Chief, the release added that Snow manages a significant portfolio, overseeing detectives, analysts, departmental budgets, and collaborating with other city departments. 

It was reported that City Manager Gonzalez led a senior executive team that evaluated credentials and performance during the selection process, which included three assistant chiefs and one lieutenant. 

The City of Midland has already announced plans for a national search to find a permanent Police Chief with Tuesday, May 21, marking the last day for current Police Chief Seth Herman, who will assume the same position in the City of Lubbock.
