MIDLAND, Texas — On Feb. 1, the Midland College men's and women's basketball teams will face off against the Clarendon College Bulldogs.
Midland College is inviting basketball lovers and the public to the "Pack the Chap" event on Thursday. There will be free barbeque before the games starting as early as 5 p.m., according to the college.
During the event, the college is also honoring one of its long-time supporters, Ted Johnso for his $1 million donation endowment dedicated to the memory of his wife, Monta Jo Glass Johnson.
The fund will help enhance the salaries of the head basketball coaches and go towards supporting the reestablishment of the Basketball Booster Club, according to a spokesperson with Midland College.
The Lady Chaps will take the court in the afternoon at 5:45. p.m. Meanwhile, the Chaps vs. Bulldogs showdown game will take place at 7:30 P.M.
Tickets start at $3 for children and $5 for adults. Midland College students can enter for free.
