MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - Prom season is just around the corner and many high school girls are getting ready. Others are having a little bit of trouble.
One Midland group is making sure every girl makes it to prom and feels special.
Callie Speight and Erica Watkins are both fairy godmothers for The Perfect PROMise.
"They [the girls] get to come in and pick from all of these dresses," said Speight. "You don't have to look at a price tag, you don't have to worry about any of that stuff. It really is a princess moment."
Girls also get to pick shoes and accessories. Fairy godmothers help the girls find the perfect prom look.
"You get to kind of do a little bit of shopping," said Watkins. "You get to give a lot of attention to maybe a girl that doesn't receive a lot of attention."
Last year, 100 girls got to pick out a dress with the program, this year they're hoping for many more.
"I had one girl last year and we struggled finding the right dress for her," said Watkins. "When we finally found her dress, she opened the door and we were both crying. It was such a special moment."
Many of the girls in the program help run their households and for at least one night, these fairy godmothers want them to feel how special they are.
"It's just a once in a lifetime type deal and you don't get a chance to do it again," said Speight. "So why not do it once and say that you got to experience it?"
