MIDLAND, Texas — Update: The area has been cleared and the subject involved was released to MCSO Mental Health Unit without incident.

The Midland Police Department is asking drivers to avoid the area of Midkiff Dr. and Baumann Ave.
Police have stated that this is due to an active/ barricade situation.
Drivers are being asked to take an alternate route.
