MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - One man's trash is another man's treasure.
Plane and Chisel is a local and independent wood shop that focuses on reusing a lot of reclaimed and repurposed wood.
The owners, Sam and TC, met over 10 years ago and their passion for woodworking motivated them to open their own wood shop in Midland.
They start from the design all the way through the finished product and work with their clients on the design and building the product.
They also use old pieces like metal frames and with a new top and new finish, it will now be a kitchen island.
A piece of furniture from Plane and Chisel has a lot of history and the good thing is that you can create more memories when you pass it on from generation to generation.
Another thing they take into consideration is that wood changes with the temperature swings and the humidity levels. Sam makes sure that their work will resist mother nature's changes, especially in West Texas.
Most importantly, TC and Sam enjoy that their kids spend a lot of time at the wood shop admiring the history behind every piece of wood and enjoying one of life's greatest gift: quality time with family.
