MIDLAND, Texas — The Midland Police Department (MPD) responded to a fatal crash early Monday, Dec. 2, in the 10400 block of State Highway 191.
Officers were dispatched at approximately 5:40 a.m. to the scene of a single-vehicle rollover including a 2010 Ford F-250. According to Midland Police, 54-year-old Victor Castillo of Odessa, the vehicle's sole occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene.
“An initial investigation concluded that Castillo was traveling eastbound on the south service road in the 10000 block of SH 191 when — for unknown reasons — he left the roadway and struck the guide wire, entering the main lane of Highway 191,” MPD reported. “This caused Castillo to roll his vehicle several times.”
Investigators determined Castillo was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was ejected from the vehicle.
