HOWARD COUNTY, TX (KWES) - Authorities have released new details following a deadly accident that occurred in Howard County on Monday afternoon.
DPS Troopers said Santos Madrid, 59, of Odessa, was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 20, near mile marker 192, when his vehicle struck an SUV head-on.
That collision caused the SUV to be hit head-on by an 18-wheeler.
Madrid was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman driving the SUV, Lois J. Lasalle, 44, of Merkel, was taken to a Big Spring hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the 18-wheeler wasn't injured.
