Missing hiker in Guadalupe Mountains National Park has been found

71-year-old Richard Berry, who was last seen on Nov. 2, was found Monday in a remote off trail location in the northern portion of the park.

DELL CITY, Texas — Update:

Missing Hiker Richard Berry, 71, who was last seen in the Guadalupe Mountains National Park on Nov. 2, was found Monday afternoon alive in a remote off trail location in the northern portion of the park.

The National Park Service is looking for a missing person at the Guadalupe Mountains National Park.

71-year-old Richard Berry was last seen on Nov. 2 around noon at the Marcus and Blue Ridge Trail Junction. Berry is bald, 5'11" and about 200 pounds. He was last seen hiking with a day backpack and a blue jacket.

He had shared his hiking plan with his family to hike out of Dog Canyon to Blue Ridge. He was also expected to check in to a hotel on Thursday night, but never arrived. His car was located at the trailhead at Dog Canyon. 

Guadalupe Mountains NP Rangers are asking anyone with any information who may have seen him on the trails to please contact the NPS through the avenues listed:
