ODESSA, Texas — The Odessa Animal Shelter is temporarily closed after a fire broke out on an HVAC unit outside.
This unit is used to cool the animal kennels at the shelter. Employees are currently trying to get a cooling system in place. As a result, the shelter is temporarily closed.
The city says the animals in the shelter are safe.
