Odessa boy dies in Ector County crash, three others in serious condition

The crash happened on Tuesday at about 1:15 p.m. at the intersection of FM 554 and Cottonwood Road. Three other passengers, two being minors, have serious injuries.

ECTOR COUNTY, Texas — A boy has died and three others have serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash in Ector County, according to Texas Department of Safety.

The crash happened on Tuesday, June 25 at about 1:15 p.m. at the intersection of FM 554 and Cottonwood Road.

A Chevrolet 1500 was driving west on Cottonwood Road towards the intersection of FM 554. A GMC Acadia was driving north on FM 554 towards the same intersection.

The Acadia then proceeded through the stop intersection. The Chevrolet 1500, according to the report, disregarded "an official traffic control device" and hit the Acadia on the right-hand side.

A boy, age unknown, who was in the Acadia was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS. The driver, a 61-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries. Three passengers, two being minors, all sustained serious injuries.

The driver of the Chevrolet 1500 sustained minor injuries.
