Odessa Police Department Press Release
24-year-old Edward Darnell Cromer
Odessa Police arrested Cromer on 7-6-15 at approximately 1530 hours for Possession of Cocaine, a 2nd Degree Felony. Officers responded to 52nd Street and Lancaster in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers observed a black 2015 Mitsubishi Cutlander, which was occupied two times.
The front passenger of the listed vehicle was identified as Cromer. Officers detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the listed vehicle. Officers searched the listed vehicle and discovered more than 4 grams of cocaine. Cromer was found to be in possession of the cocaine.
When officers attempted to detain the driver by placing him in handcuffs, he immediately took off running towards the west alley of the 4900 block of Lancaster. Cromer was placed into custody for possession of cocaine. Officers setup a perimeter and attempted to search for the driver but were unable to locate him.
Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Cromer was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center. Investigators are in the process of obtaining an evading warrant for the driver. The investigation continues.
21-year-old Kinsey Belknap
Odessa Police arrested Belknap on 7-7-15 at approximately 2350 hours for Possession of Cocaine, a State Jail Felony. Officers conducted a traffic stop on a white 1983 Chrysler Town Car in the 1400 block of East 2nd Street. The driver of the listed vehicle was identified as Belknap.
Officers searched the listed vehicle and discovered cocaine in the driver’s seat within arm’s reach of Belknap. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Belknap was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
21-year-old Cody Salcido
Odessa Police arrested Salcido on 7-6-15 at approximately 2006 hours for Burglary of a Habitation (Warrant) “1st Degree Felony” and Possession of Methamphetamine “State Jail Felony”. While officers were at 2550 West 8th Street (Woodcrest Apartments), they observed a male subject matching the description of a wanted subject.
The subject was identified as Salcido. Dispatch confirmed that Salcido had a first degree felony warrant for burglary of a habitation. Officers searched Salcido and discovered a bag of methamphetamine in his front right jean pocket. Salcido was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the ECLEC.
50-year-old Felix Perez
Odessa Police arrested Perez on 7-7-15 at approximately 0212 hours for Possession of Cocaine “State Jail Felony”, Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon “Class A Misdemeanor”, and Public Intoxication “Class C Misdemeanor”. Officers responded to the 200 block of South County Road West in reference to a medical call.
Upon arrival, officers observed a male subject speaking with paramedics. The subject was identified as Perez. While making contact with Perez, officers could smell an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath. Perez was found to be in possession of a .45 Cal Para pistol and a Romran rifle.
Officers searched Perez and discovered a bag of cocaine inside his wallet. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Perez was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center. The weapons and drugs were tagged into criminalistics as evidence.
48-year-old Samuel Pina Hernandez
Odessa Police arrested Hernandez on 7-7-15 at approximately 1145 hours for Theft (Warrant) “State Jail Felony”, Theft by Check (Warrant) “Class A Misdemeanor”, and for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. Officers responded to 7051 Tres Hermanas (Value Place Extended Stay) in reference to a disturbance.
