ODESSA, TX (KWES) - Odessa police have released information regarding two men, one suspect and one person of interest, in connection to the theft of an ATM from the MCM Elegante Hotel. The incident happened back on May 23, shortly before 6 a.m.

Surveillance video catches the suspect just minutes before the ATM was stolen. The suspect enters the lobby, paces around a little bit, while on the phone. He even talks to the receptionist.

Then just minutes later, he and another male are seen on an outside surveillance camera carrying the ATM to a tan 2007-2014 Tan Chevy Tahoe with chrome factory five-spoke wheels.

"From the time we first saw the first suspect to the time they go in their vehicle, it was just a matter of a few minutes. They stole it pretty quick," said Cpl. Steve LeSueur with the Odessa Police Department.

Police say it's uncommon for thieves to actually get away with the ATM.

"There have been attempts at convenience stores, where people will try to steal an ATM. Fortunately for us, most cases they have been unsuccessful," said LeSueur.

Police are looking for two men in connection with the case.

LeSueur described the suspect as a large black male, approximately 40 years of age.

Through a Crime Stoppers tip, police were able to identify Mario Marquez, 28, as a person of interest. He is wanted for questioning in the case.

We took a look into Marquez's criminal history. He was convicted for several charges including theft of property and possession of marijuana.

Police have not recovered the stolen ATM.

Anyone with information in reference to the whereabouts of either men or any information about the theft is asked to contact Detective J. Caid at (432) 995-4943 or Odessa Crimestoppers at (432) 333-TIPS.
