ODESSA, TX (KWES) - Odessa Police arrested Emily Nicole Morgan, 20, for Driving While Intoxicated with a Child Passenger "State Jail Felony" on Wednesday.
According to OPD, Morgan was driving at a high rate of speed before nearly striking a marked OPD unit and OPD officer while traveling on the wrong side of the road.
She was then pulled over where police discovered the back passenger was a 3-year-old female.
While speaking with Morgan, officers could smell an odor of an alcoholic coming from her breath.
Morgan was placed into custody for driving while intoxicated after failing field sobriety tests, charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the Ector County Jail.
Child Protective Services was notified of the incident and the child was released to a friend.
