ANDREWS COUNTY, Texas — On June 24, at approximately 7:22 p.m., a collision involving four vehicles occurred at SH 128 Mile Post 224 in Andrews County, according to a press release from the Texas Department of Transportation.

The vehicles involved were a 2011 GMC Sierra, a 2013 Kia Optima, a 2023 Ford F-150 and a 2024 Dodge Ram 2500.

The driver of the GMC Sierra was Herman Olivas, a 29-year-old male from Andrews, TX. He sustained minor injuries.

Ashton McCarty, a 23-year-old male from Cleveland, TX, was driving the Ford F-150 and was not injured.

Irvin Perez, a 35-year-old male from Midland and was driving the Ram 2500 and was also not injured.

The driver of the Kia Optima was Rosa Pulgar Granado, a 53-year-old female from Odessa.

The crash occurred when the GMC Sierra was traveling east on SH 128 and failed to control its speed, according to the release, rear-ending the Kia Optima.

This caused a chain reaction that caused the Kia Optima to collide with the F-150, which then struck the Ram 2500.

Granado, the driver of the Kia Optima, was pronounced dead at the scene.
