Odessa Fire Rescue responds to another fire in area of Permian Basin Containers

At 9 p.m. Wednesday night, Odessa Fire Rescue went back to the site of Permian Basin Containers to fight another fire.

ODESSA, Texas — Odessa Fire Rescue addressed a fire that broke out Wednesday night, according to a post on the City of Odessa Facebook page.

At 9:04 p.m. Wednesday night, Odessa Fire Rescue went back to the Permian Basin Container site at 81st St. & WCR, where a small fire broke out in a warehouse on the NE corner of the property.

"We have enough resources. They took one truck out with like 1000 gallons last night to put out the flare up that they had," said Odessa City Manager, John Beckmeyer.

OFR expects to be responding to that location for flare-ups for the next month or so.

"It was a big fire and with the chemicals and all, there's still hot spots; that's why you're having flare-ups still," said Beckmeyer.

According to the city's Facebook page, the incident is being led by the county, "Odessa Fire Rescue continues helping with a fire in the county! We want to stress the county is the lead agency in this incident and the city is there to help in any way possible."
