ODESSA, TX (KWES) - One man is behind bars after being charged and arrested for burglary of a habitation with intent to commit another felony.
On Sunday morning, Odessa police said they were called out to an assault at the Arbor Terrace Apartments located at 1101 Fitch Avenue.
At the scene, officers said they made contact with the 22-year-old complainant and her ex-boyfriend identified as Carlos Demetrius Stewart, 43.
Also at the scene, authorities made contact with the complainant's friend, identified as a 23-year-old female.
Officers said the complainant advised them that Stewart had forced his way into her apartment by kicking in the door.
Then, officers said they were advised Stewart punched the 23-year-old in the face multiple times with a closed fist.
Other reports revealed Stewart had assaulted the 23-year-old earlier at a night club and outside the complainant's apartment.
Officers said they observed the door frame broken and wood splinters on the floor.
We're told the 23-year-old sustained bodily injury and was taken to Medical Center Hospital to be treated.
Based on investigation, there were no other reported injuries and Stewart was taken to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center (ECLEC).
