ODESSA, Texas — The Odessa Police Department posted on their Facebook page a list of offenses for this year's 4th of July celebration.
This is what the post outlined:
FIREWORKS:
Fireworks exploding in city limits will result in a $500 fine and all fireworks seized.
If the fireworks explode and interfere with police, this will result in a state jail felony.
If the fireworks explode and cause serious injury or interfere with police, this will result in a 1st degree felony.
FIREARMS:
If discharged in city limits, a Class A misdemeanor will be issued and the firearm will be seized.
If deadly conduct occurs, including reckless discharge in the direction of a person, habitation, building, or vehicle, this will be a 3rd degree felony and will also result in the firearm being seized.
ALCOHOL:
Possession of an open container will result in a $500 fine and the alcohol will be seized.
These were the offenses outlined for driving while intoxicated:
1st offense, Class B misdemeanor.
2nd offense or a BAC of > 0.15, Class A misdemeanor.
Child passenger will result in a state jail felony.
3rd offense or cause of serious injury will result in a 3rd degree felony.
