PBRC hosts 39th Annual Celebration and Tree Lighting

The event took place at 6 p.m. Monday evening at Optimist Park.

ODESSA, Texas — The Permian Basin Rehabilitation Center and Pilot Club of Odessa hosted the 39th Annual Celebration and Tree Lighting Monday evening.

The event started at 6 p.m. at the Optimist Park located at the corner of North Grandview Ave and East Everglade Ave.

The 2024 patient representative Johnny lit the tree. Nimitz Junior High School Choir performed while guests enjoyed hot chocolate and cookies.

All proceeds from the event went to the rehab center to benefit the patients.

"It's kind of a really great way to kick off the Christmas season and to remind us of what's important this time of year," PBRC Executive Director Kim Ortega said. "It's also a testament to the generosity of our community. We live in a community that cares about its citizens and the people in the community and this is one way, an easy way for people to help somebody during the holiday season."

Kids had the chance to see Santa and Mrs. Claus at the tree lighting as well!
