A person in Alpine is moderately to severely injured after a car accident left them trapped in their vehicle

According to the Alpine Fire Department, one driver in two-vehicle accident in Alpine on Friday was freed from his car with the use of "Hurst Jaws."

ALPINE, Texas — The Alpine Fire Department posted on Facebook that a person is moderately to severely injured in an "accident" in Alpine on Friday.

According to the post, Alpine Fire Personnel were called to a two-vehicle accident at 11:30 a.m. on Friday at the intersection of East Avenue East and 8th St.

One person involved in the incident was trapped in their car.

Alpine fire "extricated" the person from the vehicle with the use of "Hurst Jaws." Hurst Jaws are tools like cutters, spreaders and rams.

The driver freed from his vehicle was transported to Big Bend Regional Medical Center with moderate to severe injuries.
