MARTIN COUNTY, Texas — At 5:40 a.m. on May 20, a fatal accident happened at the intersection of FM 829 and CR 3400 that involved two vehicles: a 2018 GMC Sierra that was traveling south on FM 829 and a 2014 International truck with a trailer that was driving eastbound on CR 3400, according to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The release stated that the driver of International truck, 26-year-old Devontrell Rimmer of Kosciusko, Mississippi, failed to yield at a stop sign and collided with 41-year-old Roberto Rubio of Plainview, Texas, who was driving the GMC Sierra.
Rubio was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation; no further information was provided.
