ODESSA, Texas — Memorial Day isn't all about sunshine and barbecues, for some it is about the loss that flooded their lives and the pain they still feel.

“Memorial Day is when they gave all, and they’re in the ground,”  said Thomas Bowe.

For those that aren't still with us today, their memory lives on through the Fallen Heroes traveling exhibit.

A traveling exhibit that carries 250 names, the Ride to Remember escorted from Monahans to Odessa by bikers from around the Permian Basin.

“A lot of people can’t ride and we ride for them,” said Bowe

A ride that honors the heroes that made the ultimate sacrifice and their families that are living with the pain.

The names and faces of memorial exhibits tell the stories of those who never came home to the land they were protecting.

“Ones that gave all those are the ones that can’t ride,” said Bowe.

Memorial Day will always have celebrations, but while celebrating, just remember the reason we're free to celebrate.

Its thanks to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
