Teen driver drives car into duck pond

City officials successfully removed the vehicle from the duck pond around 9:10 a.m.

MIDLAND, Texas — Early Monday morning at 6:30 a.m., two juveniles were involved in an accident when their mid-size sedan veered into the duck pond at Wadley Barron Park.

According to the Midland Police Department, a 17-year-old female was driving a Lincoln MKZ southbound on B Street when the vehicle hopped a curb at the northwest side of the park, ultimately becoming fully submerged in the pond. 

City officials successfully removed the vehicle from the Duck Pond around 9:10 a.m.

 The driver attempted to flee the scene but was located approximately a block away, as reported by MPD. 

Both juveniles sustained minor injuries, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
