MIDLAND, Texas — One person is dead following a crash in Midland County on Sunday evening at 8:20 p.m. according to a Texas Department of Public Safety crash report.
According to the report, a 2015 Freightliner with trailer, driven by 40-year-old Jorge Marquez, was traveling northbound on SH 349 approaching the intersection of FM 1213.
A 2013 Chevrolet Sonic traveling west on FM 1213 driven by Manuel Velasco, 45, "disregarded' the stop sign at the intersection of SH 349.
Valasco was "struck" by Marquez and was pronounced dead on the scene, Marquez was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
The crash remains under investigation, no further information is available.
