ODESSA, Texas — According to the City of Odessa, they have a new partnership to expand their recycling imprint in Odessa.
The City of Odessa has now teamed up with Diamondback Solid Waste Facility and Recycling Center.
The recycling center is located on the 2300 block of South FM 866 and is run by a family of Odessans, the Valenzuela's. It's the largest recycling center between El Paso and Fort Worth.
Michael Valenzuela's family started Basin Disposal, a waste-hauling business, about 21 years ago. He continued to grow it and now owns Diamondback.
The City of Odessa leaders (City Mayor John Beckmeyer, Deputy City Manager Agapito Bernal, Assistant City Manager Cristina Burns and Solid Waste Superintendent Jesse Rodriguez) got the chance to tour the recycling facility.
Citizens can drop off their recyclables at the Odessa Recycling Center (The Time Machine). It's located at 816 W. 42nd. The items will be taken to Diamondback.
