MIDLAND, Texas — A late Saturday morning crash in west Midland sent three to the hospital.

Midland Police responded to an accident at approximately 10:20 a.m. involving a motorcycle at the intersection of Thomas Street and Midkiff Road.

Authorities said through a news release that  "a 2005 Harley Davidson was traveling north in the inside lane of the 100 block of North Midkiff Road. It was there that a White 2019 Kia SUV was in the center turning lane of North Midkiff facing south."

“(The Kia) failed to yield the right of way (turning left) to (the Harley Davidson),” MPD reported. “(The Harley Davidson) struck (the Kia), which then struck a vehicle that was sitting at the stop sign facing west in the 3200 block of Thomas.”

The operator of the Harley Davidson did not have a helmet, according to Midland PD, when separated from the motorcycle and then transported to Midland Memorial Hospital with “life-threatening” injuries.

MPD also reported the driver and passenger inside the Kia were transported for minor injuries.

According to police, the investigation is ongoing.
