Two-vehicle crash on Interstate Business 20 leaves a Texas man dead

WARD COUNTY, Texas — One man is dead and another sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate Business 20 at mile marker 228 on Friday, Aug. 2 at around 6:30 a.m. in Ward County, according a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The DPS report states that 59-year-old Milanes Felipe from Pecos, driving a 2012 Kenworth, was going eastbound on IB-20 near mile marker 228. Forty-eight-year-old Arnold Ray from Murchison, TX., driving a 2021 Ram 2500, was traveling westbound.

According to the release, Ray failed to drive in a single lane, drove into the eastbound lane and struck Felipe.

Ray was pronounced dead at the scene. Felipe was taken to the Reeves County Hospital with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation and no further information is available at this time.
