'Every donation counts' | UT Permian Basin holds Falcon Day of Giving

UTPB has started its 24-hour online campaign known as Falcon Giving Day. It will help provide essential funding for support to students across both campuses.

ODESSA, Texas — The University of Texas Permian Basin has started its 24-hour online campaign known as Falcon Giving Day.

The campaign is raising money for the university through online monetary donations

In 2024, the 4th annual Falcon Giving Day landed on Valentine's Day, also coinciding with the UTPB President Dr. Sandra Woodley's birthday.

"We've combined these things to celebrate all the love that we get from the community for the university," Dr. Woodley said. "If you have heart for the university for the community we would love to see more friends sign up this year."

On Feb. 14, the CO2 Conference Committee donated a total of nearly $100,000. An Odessa-owned repair shop, FireFox Pump Services LLC, also presented a check to the university for student scholarships.

"Every donation counts and is important for what we're trying to do here," Dr. Woodley said. "It's Important to make sure everyone in the community can afford to come get a Texas University education and come out with the ability to use that degree to take these wonderful high paying jobs in the basin."

The fundraising campaign will go until Thursday, Feb. 15 at 12 p.m.
