ODESSA, Texas — To honor the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice, the University of Texas Permian Basin is hosting a Veterans Day celebration Thursday morning.
You will hear from local veterans and there will be a performance from the UTPB music department in the gym. The celebration starts at 8 a.m. with a light breakfast being served as well.
"Veterans just do so much for us and for our country and it's important to the university to thank them for everything that they've done," UTPB's Director of Strategic Communications Alexa Dunson said. "At UTPB, we also provide extra services for veterans, and we have a special office to help our veterans make their way through college to apply. We have financial resources and help so it's very important to the university."
UTPB encourages everyone to show their support by wearing red, white, and blue at the event.
