MIDLAND, Texas — This Valentine's Day Centennial Park has made it easier to spread the love far and wide. The park will be displaying Valentine's Day messages sent in by people's loved ones to show them some love this Holiday.
"We've got everything from something that would be really appropriate for a grandmother to get their grandkids or for a husband to get their wife or for somebody to even ask if somebody wants to be their boyfriend, girlfriend," said Jadyn Walker, Public Relations Specialist at Centennial Park.
Walker is the woman who brought this vision to life.
"I have the idea because I thought we always get we get calls about people that will want to propose occasionally on the video board and it's not really viable because it's just goes in rotation," she said. "So, in order to spread the love and give people the chance to tell their loved ones, how much they love them, I just thought why not on Valentine's Day, have it running all day with individual messages that you know people submit."
Admirers who submitted messages had 26 Valentine's Day templates to choose from.
"The graphics are pre-designed," said Walker. "Once they choose, again we enter in their names and then on the day of, we queue it up on the video board submission."
So whether you choose to get that special someone flowers, chocolates or their own personalized video message, Jadyn Walker and the staff at Centennial Park are here to make your Valentine's Day one to remember.
"I love when people call in and request something or tell me their story," she said. "It puts a smile on my face so I hope it will put a smile on other people's faces. We definitely need more love in the world. We need positivity. And if you have the opportunity to tell somebody that you love you love them, take it. Take it, say it, give the hug.
