PECOS, TX (KWES) - The West of the Pecos Rodeo is riding into town from Sunday to June 30.

Home of the world's first rodeo in 1883, the events will kick off on Sunday with a Play Day Series-Final Performance starting at 2 p.m.

Performances throughout the week will include bull riding, steer wrestling, bareback riding, team roping, saddle bronc riding and tie-down roping in addition to women's barrel racing. Each of the nine events will be between two and two-and-a-half hours, depending on the number of re-rides.

The rodeo will be at the Buck Jackson Arena, 1556 S Cedar St. in Pecos, and the ticket prices range from $9 to $15 depending on the show and seating. Tickets for small children who will sit on an adult's lap are free and tickets for children 12 and younger are discounted.
