Sheriffs from the West Texas border attended a conference of the Southwestern Border Sheriff's Coalition in Arizona.

Those from our neck of the woods included Sheriff Ronny Dodson of Brewster County and Sheriff Danny Dominguez of Presidio County.

According to the Brewster County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, sheriffs in attendance were given a tour by resident ranchers whose properties are located on the border of Mexico and Arizona.

These ranchers in Naco, Arizona expressed to the law enforcement deputies their daily frustrations of illegal immigration, such as the large groups of undocumented immigrants that cross private lands on a daily basis.

Sheriff Dodson said that last year alone, over 150 loads of drugs crossed successfully through West Texas without any real fear of apprehension.
