ODESSA, TX (KWES) - A woman was arrested Saturday just after midnight after she reportedly ran into traffic and then kicked an Odessa police officer in the face when he attempted to get her into a patrol car.
Odessa police were called out to the 1300 block of E. 2nd St. on a call to check the welfare of a woman who was supposedly in the middle of the street with no clothes on.
Officers found Miquela Munguia, 23, running into oncoming traffic. Police say she smelled strongly of alcohol.
Authorities say she was immediately put into custody for public intoxication but Munguia refused to get into the patrol car and she began kicking at the officer.
She then allegedly kicked an OPD officer in the face.
According to police Munguia also gave officers a false name.
Munguia was charged and arrested for assault on a public servant, false identification and public intoxication.
