MIDLAND - Midland Police are looking for new recruits in a unique way.

They're using one of their patrol cars as a mobile advertisement for the Recruiting and Personnel Division of the department.

A 2013 Taurus is one of two vehicles that are currently roaming the tall city in an effort to bring in new recruits.

The cars are driven all over West Texas so that people driving on highways and attending academies will see it.

Officials say they've already noticed some interest from potential recruits.

"Just driving this vehicle here, you have a lot of people approach you with random questions in reference to our department," Midland Police Department Recruiting and Personnel Sgt. Rosemary Sharp, said.
