Midland woman found guilty on 18 charges of cruelty to animals

Authorities say she had 21 animals in her house locked up in cages that she did not properly care for. All 21 of these animals reportedly died.

MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - Carly Jo Underwood, 30, has been sentenced to 10 years in jail for 18 counts of cruelty to animals.

Underwood has been given “shock probation”, meaning she will stay in jail for 6 months before having the chance to be released. The release will be determined on her behavior.

If she is released at that time, she will go on probation.

Underwood was charged with 21 counts of cruelty to animals but found guilty of 18. Authorities say she had 21 animals in her house locked up in cages that she did not properly care for. All 21 of these animals reportedly died.
