MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - Midland police has made an arrest in connection with a murder at Midland Square Apartments.
Police were called out the apartment complex around 2 p.m. on Oct. 21.
According to Midland Police, authorities responded to the apartment complex in reference to an unconscious person.
Upon arrival, EMS found the victim, Michael Joel Rubio, 29, deceased. Rubio reportedly had two puncture wounds in his abdominal area.
Willie Otey Henderson, 30, turned himself in on Oct. 22 and was transported to the Midland County Detention Center.
After Henderson turned himself in, authorities interviewed Henderson. Based on Henderson’s interview and evidence found at the scene, investigators determined that Henderson had tried to rob Rubio of narcotics when he stabbed Rubio twice with a steak knife.
Midland police continue to work the scene at the Midland Square Apartments Wedneesday.
According to officials, there is no additional information to share about the case at this time.
