ODESSA – A school name and mascot change is on the way to Hood Junior High School in Odessa.
Next August, Hood Junior High School will be named Wilson & Young Medal of Honor Middle School and the new mascot will be the Rangers.
The school was named after two Ector County ISD graduates who were killed in Vietnam and awarded the Medal Honor years after their deaths.
The school's colors will be slate gray, black and gold.
