An Odessa attorney admits to breaking into an Odessa home back in 2009. Brian Chavez, who was portrayed in the film Friday Night Lights, plead guilty on Thursday as part of a plea deal to avoid jail time.

ODESSA - An Odessa attorney admits to breaking into an Odessa home back in 2009.

Brian Chavez, who was portrayed in the film Friday Night Lights, plead guilty on Thursday as part of a plea deal to avoid jail time.

He admitted to burglary of a habitation after forcing entry into a home on east 36th Street and assaulted the homeowners Jamie and Tammie Castillo.

Chavez will have to pay a $10,000 fine, along with five years of deferred adjudication and community service.

Two co-defendants including Chavez's brother also accepted a deal on Thursday for their part in the burglary.

Both Jacob Chavez and Rosemary Soto will have to pay a $1,500 fine and serve probation time.
