ODESSA, TX (KWES) - Odessa Police arrested Jeramiah David Hall, 26, for two counts of Assault on a Public Servant "2nd Degree Felony", Theft "State Jail Felony", Evading "Class A Misdemeanor", Resisting Arrest "Class A Misdemeanor", and Public Intoxication "Class C Misdemeanor" Monday morning.

Officers were called to the Wal-Mart on NW Loop 338 because Hall was refusing to leave.

According to police, Hall was filling a suitcase with approximately $2,545 worth of merchandise and, when Wal-Mart personnel confronted him, advised that the store would be donating the merchandise to him.

Hall, who officers believe was intoxicated on a substance other than alcohol, immediately began to evade officers by running through the store.

When officers caught up to Hall in the produce section, he resisted arrest by actively pulling away, punching an officer twice in the forehead with a closed fist, then kicking another officer on the right side of his face.

Both officers sustained bodily injury as a result of the assault. Hall was charged and arrested accordingly.
