UPDATE: An 18-year-old man remains hospitalized after Odessa Police say he was shot in the chest Wednesday evening.
Officers responded to a call of a possible gunshot victim in the area of 20th and Golder Avenue. Officers found the victim, Jeffery Dossey, who had a gunshot wound to the chest.
Dossey told police that he was at his home in the 800 block of West 22nd, when he heard yelling outside. Dossey grabbed a stick and went outside where he was confronted by two Hispanic men.
Dossey says one of the suspects pointed a handgun at him and fired several rounds. Dossey was hit in the chest. He tried to drive himself to the hospital but stopped at Golder Avenue and 20th and called 911. He was transported and treated for his injuries.
Dossey described the suspects as two Hispanic males, one wearing a black plain hoodie, with "handlebar' mustache. The second suspect was wearing a gray hoodie with "South Pole" on the front. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Odessa Crime Stoppers at 432-333-TIPS.

After 6 p.m. on Wednesday evening, NewsWest 9 received reports that someone was shot in the 600 block of West 20th Street.
That's right behind the elementary school.
The area was completely taped off as officials searched a white dodge truck.
A few blocks over, officials also taped off a house on West 22nd Street.
