ODESSA - Odessa Police have issued an arrest warrant in connection with a double murder Monday morning. 76-year-old Dick Glover and 74-year-old Peggy Glover dead around 8:45 a.m. by workers who had entered the home located at 2738 Fair Oaks Circle.
The warrant has been issued for 27-year-old James Doyle Burwell. NewsWest 9 has learned Burwell has been arrested in Lubbock on unauthorized use of motor vehicle charges.
According to the affidavit, police tracked Burwell down to a motel in Lubbock by using the GPS in a Lincoln Navigator that was owned by the victim.
As of 5:00 p.m. Burwell had still not be booked into the Lubbock County Jail.
The documents identify the victims as 76-year-old Dick Glover and 74-year-old Peggy Glover, although Odessa Police had still not officially identified the victims some nine hours after they were found inside their home.
According to the affidavit, Burwell was in possession of boots that had blood on them and the print pattern of his boots matched a boot print found at the crime scene.
Burwell was also found to be in possession of one of the victims' credit cards.
