MIDLAND- A crash-landing happened in Midland shortly after 4 p.m. on Thursday.

The twin engine Beechcraft plane crashed on Whitmire Street, which is right off of Garfield, just behind the Fountains at Waterford apartment complex.

Craig Patterson and Chad Farris were onboard the Midland College plane when it went down. Both are experienced flight instructors for the college. They're shaken up, but alright. We're told they walked away from the crash site without any injuries. Nobody in the neighborhood was hurt.

Midland College Spokesperson Rebecca Bell tells NewsWest 9, "The plane lost power. It just completely lost power so they looked for a safe place to land. At the time, Whitmire Street did not have any cars on it. There were no pedestrians on the street so they landed on Whitmire Street."

Margie Moss lives in the neighborhood. She says, "First, it was just a lot of noise. There was a lot of noise. We just knew something was wrong. We went out on our balcony and it looked like it was coming in and it hit something and it whipped it around.  Then it landed and you can tell there's debris down the street, too, because it hit a tree and it was just like a real loud boom."

The plane was inbound to the Midland Airpark from Oklahoma City. It was traveling east and was about to land at Midland Airpark when it suddenly experienced engine failure and had to make an emergency landing. NTSB will be investigating the accident.
