Police identify drivers in fatal North Odessa crash

ODESSA, TX (KWES) - Odessa Police and Odessa Fire Rescue responded to a fatal accident at the intersection of Andrews Hwy and 87th St.

Police say Maylin Gabriela Melo Perez, 36, is dead following the accident and her two young children were transported to the hospital.

According to police, Melo Perez was traveling westbound on 87th Street in a silver Toyota 4Runner when she ran a stop sign.

Martina Nabarrete Banuelos, 54, was traveling northbound on Andrews Highway in a H2 Hummer and struck Meol Perez as she passed through the intersection.

Melo Perez was pronounced deceased on scene, one child is in critical condition and the other has been listed as stable.

Martina Nabarrete Banuelos was also transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
