ODESSA, Texas — Larry Robinson, who sits on the City of Odessa's Economic Development Board, is looking to lead Ector County in a bigger way.
Robinson is running for Ector County commissioner for Precinct 1.
NewsWest 9 caught up with the businessman and Odessa native to learn more about his decision to run for office.
"I'm out here to contribute what I can to the people of Ector County," Robinson said. "There's has been a lot of people here who've stayed the duration, like myself, who've been here 60 [to] 70 years, seen all the changes, ups and downs of the Permian Basin, all the stresses [and] all the pluses and minuses. I just want to help see that through and the remaining years that I have and in a way that'll be beneficial for all the people of Ector County."
Robinson will be up against Incumbent Precinct 1 Commissioner Mike Gardner.
